Parent Visits

Welcome to Bil-O-Wood! We welcome parents to camp at almost any time*. We feel it is important for you to experience not only the physical setting your camper has enjoyed during their stay but also the SPIRIT of Camp Bil-O-Wood. Come and spend time when you can, not just to drop off or pick up your camper, but during a regular activity day when you can get the real feel of life at camp. There are good lodging facilities only 4 miles away in Blind River (see list under – Contact). You may be able to take your meals in the camper dining hall. Inquire at the camp office upon arrival.

Motels fill quickly at the end of each of our sessions. Booking early is recommended.
*We ask that you not spend time in camp during the first few days of each session. At that time we are focused on getting campers oriented. For visits to camp please call to schedule your arrival to be sure that your camper will not be out of camp on a canoe trip at that time.
When you do visit camp please let your camper continue to be part of their normal routine. They are only at camp for a short period of time and your asking to take them away from planned activities may keep them from an activity they enjoy and could interrupt a group function.

Parent Volunteers
Many parents who visit camp also volunteer their time and/or skill. Volunteering is not required, but many parents like to be part of the “action”. Without the hundreds of hours of volunteer time provided at Bil-O-Wood each summer we would not be able to accomplish as much as we do. Contact Uncle Tom or Uncle Paul when you arrive to discuss your support if you would like to volunteer.
